Chris sent five TestFlight notes in one day, and they all said the same thing. Answers were wordy, counted things in sentences, and took four screens to say yes. Now Yui draws the answer.
Your own key at every stop
Yui gives you 100 free turns a month. After that you bring your own model and key, and you can give each agent a different one. Here is why Yui never sells you a model.

Yui 0.5.0 crashed when you switched agents, then every time you opened it. Every test passed. Here is the one line that did it, why the tests missed it, and what we test now.
Yui 0.4.0: the new face of Yui
The answer plays on the full screen, a big mic sits bottom right, the stage moves the way each agent moves, and a live picture behind the words listens. Build 204 is on TestFlight.
Yui 0.4.1: tune up, keep time, send a take
A tuner on the mic, a metronome in the chat, a Record button on every instrument, and a MIDI keyboard that plays the keys. Build 208 is on TestFlight.
Yui 0.4.2: one Send per screen
A small release from the feedback button. When Yui asks you a few things on one screen, there is one Send at the end, and nothing else that looks like one. Build 216 is on TestFlight.
Yui 0.5.0: the crew feels ready
Hold to snap and say what's in it, meet each agent the first time you open it, every agent gets a home, and a meal gets logged without a scale. Build 278 is on TestFlight.
A Yui of your own
Today Yui is the screen and you bring the agent. The plan is that Yui answers on your first launch, with a starter crew and nothing to install. And for people who want more, a real Hermes of their own. Here is that plan, in plain words.

A flow is a saved series of screens that any agent can run by name. The library is where an agent looks one up by what it wants to do. Both shipped on the web today. Here is how they work, and what comes next.
The chat becomes the record
You talk, and the answer plays full screen in short parts with a picture each. Questions come last, one Send. The chat moves top right and keeps the record. The mock is live; the app build is next.
Why iPhone first
Yui runs on one platform today, on purpose. A screen your agent draws should feel like part of the phone it lands on, and one phone done well beats four done halfway. Here is the reasoning, and what we have for everyone else.

Taps answer at once, a long thread opens in about a third of a second, and typing keeps up. Plus shapes that move and two deck fixes. Build 138 is on TestFlight.
Yui 0.3.1: three notes from the feedback button
What you were typing stays put, a lesson is one deck you swipe, and an ask you answered leaves the war room at once. Build 160 is on TestFlight.
Yui 0.3.2: ask any agent for a beat
A looper and drum pads that play in the app, hold to reply, a quiet dot on the menu, and a working row that says what your agent is doing and how long it usually takes. Build 176 is on TestFlight.
Yui for musicians

Yui is in alpha
